Melvin Eyster started harvesting in the late 50's and operated under the name of Eyster Custom Harvesting, Inc until his retirement in 1997. His son-in-law, Joe Wenger has taken over the operation and changed the name to Eyster Harvesting, LLC in 2003. Joe, his wife and four daughters continue with the same history and tradition of providing quality custom cutting.
We harvest wheat, barley and corn with the latest model John Deere equipment. They have 5 9770's combines, 6 semi's and 1 grain cart. Because we have a good number of combines, we are able to split our crew to better serve our customers at times along our route.
We start our season in mid May around Crowell, Texas. By the first week of June we are usually in central Oklahoma anywhere from Thomas to Enid. Mid June finds us around Bucklin and Beloit Kansas areas. By early July, we move north to Goodland Kansas, Holly Colorado areas then on to Holyoke and Brighton Colorado areas. We are in eastern Wyoming and the Nebraska panhandle by mid July including the Kimball, Scottsbluff and Gering communities.
We are always looking for seasonal employees to fill a crew of about 12. Hiring usually takes place around January.

By the end of July, we head toward Hardin and Billings Montana. The next week we are off to the Bozeman Montana area. The third week of August we head east toward Williston North Dakota. In September we are back in the Goodland Kansas for corn harvest and Dillon, Montana for irrigated barley harvest.
